Avriny is so excited! After all he learned about Reb Shayele, he’s finally traveling to Kerestir! He packs his tefilin and a list of the names of people he wants to daven for.
He makes sure to get up early to get on his 10 hour flight from New York to Budapest. Big day tomorrow!
As they drive from Budapest to Kerestir, Avriny tries to imagine what it was like 100 years ago, when Yidden would schlep to Kerestir by train and by wagon, seeking a brachah (and a hot meal!) from the Rebbe.
Reb Shayele’s house! Standing there just as it has for so many years. In this village in Hungary, it seems like time has frozen in place!
Avriny enjoys a gourmet dinner served by the Tzadik’s own descendants who are continuing the legendary chessed of their Zaidy.
Finally, he is ready to daven to Hashem at Reb Shayele’s kever. Avriny davens like he’s never davened before. He leaves the kever feeling lighter, confident that Hashem will answer his tefillos, in the zchus of the Tzadik, Reb Shaya ben Reb Moshe!
