Another Priceless Day!

A young man who was learning Torah was told by a doctor that he had a very rare sickness. The doctor sadly explained that there was no cure, and that he might only live for about two more years.

But instead of getting upset, the man seemed very calm. The doctor was astonished, and asked, “How are you so calm after hearing something like this!?”

The man answered, “I’m thinking about how kind Hashem is for giving me life! Even if your prediction is true, I will still have an amazing two years of life. I will be able to wake up every morning and say Modeh Ani, thanking Hashem for returning my neshama and giving me another priceless day of life over 700 more times! But Hashem is my loving Father, and maybe He will choose to give me even more than 700 times.

The Rebbe of Nadvorna, who told this story, ended off with something amazing: more than 13 years have passed since that moment, and that man is still waking up every day, thanking Hashem for the gift of life!
