Chazal tell us how Avraham Avinu concluded that the world must have an owner. He was walking and saw a large palace on fire. He said, “just as this palace has an owner, so too, there must be an owner of the world.” And then, Hashem revealed Himself to him.
The Bais Avraham writes that Chazal are telling us something important about our own personal avodas Hashem. At times, a person might feel that the yetzer hora is too strong for him, and that there’s no way he can overcome it. One must know that this is not the case, because we’re never alone in this fight. Chazal tell us that “If not for Hashem’s help, a person would never be able to overcome the yetzer hora.” Just as Hashem revealed Himself to Avraham, He helps every Yid.
