Track 7: Can’t Stop Won’t Stop

The holy Zohar in Parshas Pinchos recounts a fascinating exchange whereby Rebbe Abba asked Reb Shimon Bar Yochai: Why is it that the nations of the world do not “shuckel”—why do only Jews sway back and forth when they pray and learn Torah?

Reb Shimon revealed that this movement reflects something profoundly spiritual. When a Yid learns Torah or davens, their neshamah—their soul, which is a direct part of Hashem—comes alive. The passuk says, “Ner Hashem nishmas adam”—the soul of man is like the flame of Hashem. Just as a flame constantly flickers, leaping upward, as if yearning to connect to something higher, so too the neshamah is always striving, always seeking to connect to Hashem.

Our neshamah is on fire!

Grandparents are so dear to each of us. This song celebrates the enduring legacy of grandparents and especially one of the TYH chevra’s grandmothers. Although she recently passed to the Olam Ha’emes, her values and lessons live on all across the TYH Nation. It’s not that often in one’s lifetime that a song comes to light that is new, but feels like it’s always been there.

Hatzileni is one such song.

Well over a decade ago, a holy yid in Jerusalem by the name of Yitzchak L’kutei Tfilot showed up at Nekuda Tova, a beautiful and lively makom torah utefillah in Meah Shearim, and for years would sit in the Ezras Nashim and sing and sing and cry while praying to Hashem, as he would daven the words of Likutei Tefilot. In that corner one could find a pure and holy Eved Hashem, turning to his Creator in sweet sweet song and prayer.

R’ Pinchas Deutsch from Nekuda Tova would sit with him and listen to his songs until one day, Yitzchak L’kutei Tfilot shared the song Hatzileni and immediately inspired The Nekuda Tova Chevra to bring this song to the world. The song became a fixture in the community, even being played at the legendary VaserTreiger farbrengens and anybody that has visited Nekuda Tova has most likely danced to Hatzileni at some point.

Legend has it that the holy composer, Reb Yitchak, is ben achar ben from the Holy Baal Shem Tov, and this song definitely came down from very high places.

Just a few months ago, when we saw a clip of R’ Lazer Storch singing this song, we knew we needed to get involved in the avodah. R’ Lazer along with a large chevra were trying to return to Yerushalayim after spending Rosh Hashana in Uman, but they were stuck for many hours at a border crossing davening for passage while singing this holy tune.

We are releasing the song to coincide with the parshios of Yakov Avinu, who was the first to use these words as he turned to Hashem. Since the time of our forefathers we as Jews have always turned to Hashem during battle. Faced with a threatening force, Yakov Avinu turns to Hashem and his preparations for battle are focused on preparing his primary weapon- His Prayer. Turning to Hashem to save us from all enemies, is our inherited, tried, and tested battle cry and even when times are very difficult we call out Hatzileni to our loving Father- Please save us and help us through these trying times.

Now, more than ever, the world needs this song.

Mashiach Tzidkenu Bimiheira Biyameinu!

The ultimate niggun! This song carries an incredible energy with a fresh, modern sound, yet it harnesses the deep power of a wordless melody—a vessel that holds and expresses countless emotions all at once.

Rebbi Nachman reveals the secret of connection in this passuk from Tehillim 139.

“אִם אֶסַּק שָׁמַיִם שָׁם אָתָּה וְאַצִּיעָה שְּׁאוֹל הִנֶּךָּ.”

Dovid Hamelech proclaims that no matter where we find ourselves, we are always with Hashem. When I ascend to the heavens, You are there—during my highest spiritual moments, I am one with Hashem. But perhaps even more crucially, when I descend into the depths, when I face darkness and feel disconnected, I am never truly alone. The reality is, there is no place devoid of Hashem’s presence, no situation too far removed to reconnect with Him. In every moment, no matter how distant we may feel, the moment that we recognize Hashem is there we have already done the seemingly impossible. We have already connected to Him once again!

המציאות היא שאין מקום נטול נוכחות השם, אין מצב רחוק מדי מכדי להתחבר אליו מחדש. בכל רגע, לא משנה כמה רחוקים אנו חושבים שאנו נמצאים וחשים, ברגע שאנו מכירים בכך שהשם נמצא איתנו שם, כבר עשינו את מה שנראה בלתי אפשרי. התחברנו אליו שוב!

The avodah of learning Torah is the essence of every Yid! Celebrate our essential connection to Hashem and to His Torah. It is said in the name of the Tzadikim that when we daven we are talking to Hashem, and when we learn Torah, Hashem is talking to us! Be awake to the communication coming through when you learn any part of the Torah hakedosha.

We want Moshiach now! We absolutely do! Not because Moshiach is some kind of magical cure-all that instantly solves every problem, but because we understand what it truly means to live in the times of Moshiach. We recognize that our struggles and challenges are simply the natural consequences of a world where Hashem’s presence is hidden, making things feel dark and difficult. But when Moshiach comes, that veil will be lifted—we will see Hashem’s presence clearly, and as a result, all pain, hardships, and confusion will naturally dissolve. The Lubavitcher Rebbe ZY’A was very fond of this song, and we are proud to present our own take on this classic tefillah.

This song is rooted in the creation of Adam—the epic moment when Hashem breathed life into the first human being, as it says, ‘ויפח באפיו נשמת חיים’—He breathed into his nostrils the soul of life. The holy Zohar teaches, ‘מאן דנפח, מתוכיה נפח’—one who breathes, breathes from their innermost essence. In that moment, Hashem gave each of us a חלק אלוקה ממעל ממש—a piece of His very essence, as the Alter Rebbe explains in the Tanya.

This breath is the source of the נשמת ישראל, the Jewish soul—a connection to Hashem that is unbreakable and unshakeable. The connection between נשמה(soul) and נשימה(breath) reminds us that every breath we take is a continuation of that first, holy breath of creation. As Rebbi Levi, in the name of Rebbi Chanina, teaches in Bereishis Rabah, ‘ע ל כל נשימה ונשימה תהללי-ה’—for every single breath, we must praise Hashem. Each inhale and exhale is an opportunity to reconnect to the light of our נשמהand the divine spark flowing through us.

This song’s release on Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, is no coincidence. Chanukah is a time to ignite the light within, to illuminate the darkness, and to recognize that Hashem’s miracles surround us in every moment—just like the miracle of breath. The menorah’s flames remind us that even a small light has the power to overcome great darkness. And with each breath, we have the chance to fan the flames of our נשמה, letting its light shine brightly in the world.

Chevra, breathe deeply. With every breath, feel the infinite light and love of Hashem filling you. Like the lights of Chanukah, let your נשמהilluminate the world with its divine spark, bringing warmth, hope, and clarity into the darkness.

Hashem promises us that He will carry us on eagle’s wings. We pray and yearn for the coming of Moshiach, and actively participate in bringing him closer. As I ask Hashem to carry me, I recognize that ultimately every step of the way, Hashem is close by. I am just waiting for the day when our mission is completed, and He can load us up on the way to Eretz Yisroel.
