Nishmasin Chaditin נשמתין חדתין — These are a collection of many different topics that the Rebbe primarily shared on Shabbos. Sometimes it’s something a talmid brings up, things that we go through in life, the different pathways of various tzadikim. Some of the Rebbe’s seforim are on a high level, and require knowledge of deeper ideas, but for the most part, Nishmasin Chaditin is a collection of geshmake, relatable ideas. It is a great entry point to learn how the Rebbe thinks and connects things and his general pathway.
De’eh Chochma L’Nafshecha דעה חכמה לנפשך — A five-volume set on every parsha, this is the Rebbe’s Shalosh Seudos Torah (I was zoche to sponsor the set covering the years תשס”ה תשס”ט; it is called the Newcomb Edition.)
Yam Hachochma ים החכמה— The flagship set of seforim from the Rebbe. There are many volumes on different topics. For those who are not familiar with some of the deeper Torah and Kabbalistic concepts used here, there is a maamer (essay) in the first volume of De’eh Chochma L’Nafshecha that introduces a lot of those concepts in a simple, straightforward way.
Another set that can be great for beginners to the Rebbe’s Torah is Likutei Yam Hachochmah, which has volumes on Avodas Hashem, Moadim, Shabbos, and Pnimiyus. These are mostly excerpts of the Rebbe’s Torah that are focused on the practical avodah, without the depth of Kabbalah.
