Yoeli: Wait. Before Chanukah, we were talking about Dovid Hamelech growing up in Beis Lechem, and Rochel being buried in Beis Lechem.
Yossi: That’s right…
Yoeli: And you told me about Dovid’s tefillos being answered in Rochel’s zchus.
Yossi: Yes…
Yoeli: So I just realized something. During the first Beis Hamikdash, Klal Yisrael split into two kingdoms: Yehuda and Yisrael. The first king of Yisrael was a big rasha, Yeravam ben Nevat… and he came from
Shevet Efraim. So in a way, they split into two: Yehuda and Efraim. Dovid comes from Yehuda, and Efraim comes from Rochel! Seems to have a lot to do with Beis Lechem!
Yossi: Whoa. Good point Yoeli! I guess that means that Beis Lechem has powers of both – Dovid from Yehudah and Yosef from Rochel Imeinu. It reminds me of this week’s parsha, where it says, “Vayigash eilav Yehuda,” Yehuda came close to Yosef. It seems here, they make peace. Iy”H all Yidden will come home very soon!
