The passuk says, “V’ahavta l’raeiacha k’mocha.” The seforim teach us a great exercise we can learn from this passuk. If someone hurts you or makes you feel bad, we usually get upset at that person right away. But what if you accidentally hurt yourself? Would you get mad at yourself for that? Definitely not! If we can love our fellow Jew mamish as if he were us – because we are all one — then, if someone bothers us, we can try to react as we would if we accidentally hurt ourselves.
