Hashem wants us to ask Him for anything that we desire. Hashem is Ein Sof, and wants to give us unlimited goodness. As the passuk says (Malachi 3:10) regarding the reward for one who gives tzedakah, וּבְחָנ֤וּנִי נָא֙ בָּזֹ֔את אָמַ֖ר ד’ צְבָא֑וֹת אִם־לֹ֧א אֶפְתַּ֣ח לָכֶ֗ם אֵ֚ת אֲרֻבּ֣וֹת הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וַהֲרִיקֹתִ֥י לָכֶ֛ם בְּרָכָ֖ה עַד־בְּלִי־דָֽי, Test me with this, (and see) if I do not open for you the floodgates of the Heavens and pour down on you blessing with no limit.”
Purim is a time of giving. It is a time for us to give gifts to one another and charity to the poor, as our sages teach that on Purim,“Kol haposhet yad nosnim lo, anyone who reaches out their hand, asking for charity, we must give him”. Normally during the rest of the year, we must first vet him, to see if he is really deserving, on Purim we do not do that But we are taught that this requirement also applies to Hashem, and on the day of Purim, He gives us whatever we stretch out our hand asking for, without vetting us.
This means our only job is to ask for shefa ad bli dai, an abundance of good with no limit! We don’t want to just pay our bills, we want to have lots of extra money in our bank account that we can do mitzvos with! We don’t just want to recover from an illness, we want to live many long years with excellent health and energy! We don’t want to have an OK marriage, we want to have a fantastic marriage that brings us happiness and joy every single day!
Purim is the day to shatter the glass ceiling of tzimtzum, and to realize that there is no such thing as a limitation for the Infinite One. This song was released before Purim to help us prepare to ask for shefa. As you blast this song during your Purim seudah, remember that when it comes to Hashem, even the sky is not truly the limit.
