YOSSI: “Yoeli, how was your Shabbos?”
YOELI: “Amazing, Yos, how was yours?”
YOSSI: “Truly Eretz Yisraeldig Yoeli, truly Eretz Yisraeldig.”
YOELI: “Uh, Yos, what do you mean?”
YOSSI: “Yoeli, don’t you remember what Rebbe told us? Eretz Yisrael is compared to Shabbos. Eretz Yisrael is the most special place in the world, just like Shabbos is the most special day of the week!”
YOELI: “And Yos, don’t forget the last piece of the puzzle: Klal Yisrael is the most special people!”
YOSSI: “Of course! But think about it, Yoeli, when you eat bread on Monday, is it special? Maybe a little (especially if it comes from Eretz Yisrael) but does it compare to Challah on Friday night? They’re both bread, right? But so different. So too Eretz Yisrael has similarities with say, Jordan, Syria and the other countries around here, but for real, it’s on a totally ‘nother level!”
YOELI: “And just like Shabbos is special for the Yidden, so too Eretz Yisrael is special for the Yidden!”
YOSSI: “Now you’re catching on! You know we say it in Kabolas Shabbos! In the first perek of Kabolas Shabbos we speak about the Meraglim. Hashem says they won’t come into Eretz Yisrael- Im Yivoyun el Menuchasi- doesn’t Menuchasi sound like…”
YOELI: “Menucha! Shabbos!”
YOSSI: “That’s right! Eretz Yisrael is compared to Shabbos!”
YOELI: “Whoa! So I guess your Shabbos was next level by the sound of it!”
YOSSI: “You can say that again Yoeli! Ok, everyone, we’ll see you again, right here, next week!”
