In honor of the 31st yahrtzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Gimmel Tammuz

PEDAL TO THE METAL!

In the race to the finish line, it’s time to rev up!

What will happen when Moshiach comes? Chances are that one of the first things you thought was that candy will grow on trees. Wahoo! So exciting!

But here’s the catch: When Moshiach comes, you aren’t going to care about these things anymore! What will you spend your day doing instead? Serving Hashem by learning and davening!

Nah, you’re thinking. Not me! That’s so not possible! I can’t even imagine such a thing! I love davening and learning Torah, but I also love to play Lego and basketball and eat ice cream. I can’t imagine ever not caring about these things!

Well actually, it is 100% possible!

Imagine that you’re in your room, deeply engrossed in building a house from Lego. Nothing else matters but this Lego house. It has a pool in the yard, two floors, a bedroom with a giant moon bounce, the biggest dining room table you’ve ever

“Shmaryahu! It’s supper time! Come to the kitchen please!”

“Mommy! I’m not hungry! I’m in the middle of playing Lego!”

“Shmaryahu! You need to eat. You can’t just play all day and not eat! Otherwise, how will you have the koach to play!”

Mommy is right. If you think about it, your stomach really is rumbling. Even though the roof you were in the middle of constructing (with a helicopter pad and a water slide into the pool) is a whole lot more interesting than your best supper of chicken and steak fries, you go down anyway. But it doesn’t taste the same…you can’t stop thinking about your Lego complex.
